The Perfect Ten Lyrics

(K-2 class)
1. Love God with all your heart.
2. Worship only God.
3. Keep God's name holy.
4. Keep the Lord's day special.
5. Always obey your mom and dad.
6. Do not kill.
7. Be faithful in marriage.
8. Do not steal.
9. Do not lie.
10. Do not be jealous of what others have.

(3-5 class)
1. You shall have no other gods before me.
(We should make God the most important thing in our lives.)
2. You shall not bow down to idols and worship them.
(We should not worship things more than God.)
3. You shall not make wrongful use of the name of God.
(We should not use God's name as a curse word or in a disrespectful way.)
4. Keep the Sabbath day holy.
(It is important for us to have one day each week set aside for God. On this day we will rest and focus on God.)
5. Honor your father and mother.
(Families are important to God. God wants us to help our parents and to respect them- listen and obey them.)
6. You shall not murder.
(God is unhappy whenever anyone intentionally hurts someone else.)
7. You shall be faithful to your husband or wife.
(God wants husbands and wives to love each other and be faithful to their marriage vows.)
8. You shall not steal.
(God wants us to respect the possessions of other people- don't take what doesn't belong to you.)
9. You shall not lie.
(God wants us to always tell the truth.)
10. You shall not want what belongs to your neighbor.
(God gives each of us much to be thankful for. We should enjoy the things we have rather than wanting what others have.)
